The Blueprint of the Church
Why Membership?
- God counts His people.
- The Bible refers to records kept of people’s names.
- We are members of the Body of Christ.
- We are members of a local Church.
God’s pattern for building
- God is a builder.
- God gives specific instructions for building.
- God has a plan for building.
- God is strengthening Churches.
- We are to build one another up.
The building of the New Testament Church
- Jesus is building His Church.
- The New Testament Church is God’s house.
- There are order and structure in God’s house.
The structure of a local Church
- Modeled after the New Testament Church.
- We have a Lead Elder/Pastor.
- The structure includes Elders and Deacons.
- Saints and servant-leaders make up the Church.
The operation of the Church
- Responsibilities of the Elders/Pastors: Word and prayer, Equip, Preach and teach, Protect, Correct, Lead and feed; shepherd and serve
- Everyone’s Responsibilities: Believe, Love, Respect, Attend, Tithe/give, Compassion, Unity, Serve
